SAY THEIR NAME! Is the most sacred event of the year for HVHH. 

Each year, hundreds of people of African heritage come from all over the world and meet in Galvaston Texas to honor the lives, memories and the legacy of those who came before us. We take the time to gather together at The Gulf in Galvaston Texas. We meet at the water and remember those who died on that beach after they learned of their freedom and were attempting to go back to their homeland, Africa.  Even though the slaves had been legally freed 2 years prior, upon hearing of their plans to return to Africa, many of the slave owners followed our Ancestors to The Gulf and murdered them. They prefered to see them dead opposed to free. 

Join us the 2nd weekend in October as we honor our collective ancestors as well as our individual loved ones who have gone before us. Durning this 3 day weekend, we will review the historical facts from this time in our history. We will also learn more about the importance of honoring our ancestors and ways to get started.

SATURDAY -  

All day Saturday is reserved for our guest to participate in the Caravan of the Ancestors. This is an all day event that is filled with love, history, reverance and celebration.  There will be hundreds of decendants of slaves gather, wearing all white, singing, dancing and celebrating the sacrifices that were made and the history that was left.

Continental Breakfast will be available each morning by 5:15am. In addition to the meals provided the kitchen including healthy snacks, fruit and drinks are available to guest throughout the entire stay.
